In the health insurance industry, a deductible is an amount that you're responsible for in the event of a loss. This is the amount you pay out-of-pocket, and insurance covers a portion of the remainder (typically by percentage, often 70-80%) and you'll pay the balance.    In the Health Share industry, the term used is "initial unshareable amount", aka "IUA", and is essentially the same process for the member. With the Zion Health Share, expenses are covered at 100% after the IUA for all members! The video below explains how the IUA works.
